Masta Quba

Masta Quba is a Mexican rapper and activist from Cuautitlan Izcalli. She has conducted workshops, lectures, and concerts across Mexico. Masta Quba works on her feminist Hip Hop project in which, through the lyrics of her songs, she highlights the need for change and awareness in society. Her music also serves as an invitation to take action against gender-based violence and promotes women's emancipation.

Her activism extends to prisons, where she has performed at various women's and mixed-gender penitentiaries in different parts of Mexico.

She has performed at more than a hundred concerts and festivals in Latin America and Spain. She has collaborated with prominent female rap groups like Machete en Boca, and there are more collaborations in the pipeline.

In 2021, she released the single 'Nosotras Tenemos Otros Datos,' which has become a protest anthem due to its relevance in denouncing violence against women and the increase in femicides in Mexico since the pandemic began.

After releasing dozens of singles, she launched her first album 'Roothoppas' in 2022, accompanied by P. Jaguar. P. Jaguar is a multidisciplinary Catalan artist who is part of Masta Quba's musical project. His versatility has made him not only her producer but also the MC who accompanies her in all her live performances.

Masta Quba has managed to bring feminist struggle to the forefront in Mexico through music and has earned a place not only in the Mexican scene but also in Catalonia, where she is gaining recognition. She has recently been confirmed to perform at the FIM (Fira de Música Emergent i Familiar) in Vilaseca. Masta Quba has landed in Catalonia to stay and has rooted her project in this land, where she will continue to spread her message and share experiences and realities. However, she always keeps her Mexican roots in mind.

Currently, her music is crossing borders, with her Spotify numbers continuously growing. An indicative sign is the inclusion of two of her songs on the well-known Netflix platform ('Desenfrenadas' and 'La flor más bella').
