MELI PEREA releases her new single “LODO”.

After her first album “Prisma,” where she explored real-life stories, neighborhoods, and characters of Bogotá, MELI PEREA presents “LODO,” a transformative theme, a song that encourages the construction of our own paths, evoking a creative and strong intention, freeing ourselves from the power we have given to the words of others about our own path. In this new work, Meli has once again collaborated with Ancestral Beats, blending rhythms such as mapalé, Cuban bembé, and turreo. “LODO” has a more electronic component, upbeat tempo, and lyrics that empower, heal, and inspire to create and believe.

Meli Perea is the artistic name of Melissa Carballido Perea, a singer and songwriter from Bogotá (Colombia) currently residing in the Delta del Ebro. Her journey in music began in the streets and squares of Bogotá, where she delved into freestyle with her neighborhood friends. Being the only girl there, she learned and developed a distinctive style that is still present in her music today. In 2023, she released her first album “Prisma,” one of her most intimate projects, recorded in a home studio format and with the collaboration of friends and musicians like Ancestral Beats, her producer. In this album, she fused Latin rap with Afro-Colombian rhythms and electronic music, creating authentic tracks perfect for the dance floor.
