Sobre Mi Gata is a musical project born in early 2022 in the Vallcarca neighborhood. Throughout 2023, the group released its first self-produced album, Calor del colapso, an unpredictable blend of electro-cumbia, dub, and drum & bass. With this work, Sobre Mi Gata explores the possibilities and contradictions of collapse, inviting listeners to dance and reflect on the threshold of the supposed end of the world. Among the sounds of the debut album stand out ’90s-style synths, EDM-inspired kick drums, and a bass line rooted in reggae.

In 2024 they released their second album, Un món sense humanes, also self-produced, which features their first songs in Catalan. The world has already collapsed, and every day we witness its consequences: imagining extinction in a world without humans is an exercise in rethinking the privileges of the white man. Sobre Mi Gata’s sound continues to evolve toward more electronic nuances, sometimes close to techno, at other times leaning toward bachata-dub or electro-merengue.

At the beginning of 2026, Sobre Mi Gata will release their third album with the label Guspira, titled Vèrtic, in which the band definitively turns toward dub and steppa. The album is almost entirely in Catalan (including only one song in Spanish).

Currently, Sobre Mi Gata is made up of Neus on vocals, Ru as DJ, and Guido on bass. Over four years of activity, the group has played around seventy concerts across Catalonia, the Basque Country (including the French Basque Country), Aragon, and Madrid, performing at both local festivals and venues. Their music has been broadcast on the main radio stations in Catalonia and across Spain.
