Formed in Manresa in early 2023, Declivi is an alternative rock project that was born almost by chance, but with the immediate intuition that this encounter could go much further. From the very first rehearsals, the chemistry between the band members became evident: they shared energy, musical sensitivity, and a common need to turn everything that burned inside them into songs.
After having been part of other projects that didn’t quite take off, Declivi became the definitive point of convergence for its members. A creative space from which to channel concerns, frustrations, contradictions, and also moments of light. Their sound moves within rock with character and distortion, without giving up melody or a certain emotional fragility. Their songs are in Catalan, the language they live and express themselves in, which they claim as both the present and the future of their music.
In a very short time, the band has begun to gain presence within the emerging scene of the territory. They have received support from the Casa de la Música de Manresa, which awarded them a recording grant and supported them in launching a festival dedicated to emerging bands from the city. In addition, in 2024 they were also winners of the Engresca’t competition, further reinforcing the growth of a project that has not stopped evolving since their first live performance.
They now present their new single, “Quan m’inunden les pors”, the second preview of their upcoming work. If in previous tracks tension and conflict were the driving force, here the band shifts toward reconstruction. It is not a naïve song: it tells the story of someone who has gone through darkness and consciously decides to remain in the light.
With a rock foundation at 93 BPM in C major, the track breathes openness and clarity, yet does not hide its scars. The lyrics are explicit in their transformation: tearing out “les còrnies desolades”, discarding the old gaze and replacing it with a new one. The image is almost violent, but necessary. It is not about forgetting pain, but about changing the way it is perceived.
The line “resisteixo a la línia de front” turns emotional conflict into a battlefield. But here the war is not against the world, it is against oneself: against the fear of failure, rejection, and falling again. And it is precisely love—the calm presence of another—that acts as the anchor point to rebuild a stronger identity.
The repetition of “poc a poc i pas a pas, ferm i amb convicció” is not just a lyrical device; it is a statement of intent. Growth is not explosive, it is progressive. It is not epic, it is real. Declivi thus deliver one of their most luminous and mature pieces, where vulnerability ceases to be weakness and becomes strength.
This second preview expands the universe of “GUERRA ENDINS”, an album that explores inner battles and scars, but also the real possibility of healing them.
“GUERRA ENDINS” will be released on May 14.
