Meli Perea presents “Suavitell (Live Session)”

Meli Perea releases “Suavitell (Live Session)”, a new live interpretation that highlights the rhythmic strength and instrumental richness of her music. Electronic cumbia and Colombian-rooted rhythms come together in a sound that brings organic percussion and electronic elements into dialogue.

The Live Session features electric guitar, sampler, congas, drums and the harmonic flute, an ancestral instrument. This arrangement gives prominence to the instruments and the interplay between the different sonic elements. The combination reinforces the organic character of the performance and reflects how Meli Perea connects her Afro-Colombian roots with electronic experimentation and contemporary rhythms.

“Suavitell” is one of the tracks from “Temas, terapias y visajes”, the 12-track album the artist released in February 2026. Produced alongside Ancestral Beats, the album explores different everyday experiences and emotional journeys through a diverse sound, drawing on influences such as cumbia, dembow, funk carioca and other Latin rhythms. With this new series of Live Sessions, Meli Perea revisits some of the album’s tracks, exploring them through live performance and giving them a new sonic dimension.

Of Colombian descent and based in the Terres de l’Ebre for several years, Meli Perea is a singer and songwriter. Her music blends tradition and contemporary sounds, drawing on Afro-Colombian influences, rap, poetry and electronic music. Her project gained recognition with “Prisma” (Guspira Records, 2023), an album that helped shape her identity within Catalonia’s Latin music scene.

With “Suavitell (Live Session)”, Meli Perea kicks off this live journey through her latest album, reaffirming a musical approach in which rhythm, instrumentation and cultural roots coexist with a constant exploration of new sounds.
