Adala publishes “DELTA”, his long-awaited fourth album

“Delta” is Adala’s fourth work and the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet. It also refers to the slower brain waves, those that shape the subconscious and unfold in dreams. Adala’s new album speaks of a collective subconscious formed by the emotions, thoughts, and silences of those around us. It is his most intimate work, revealing details of his personal life and his experience with music, without forsaking a political and collective perspective. With this album, the artist solidifies a new sound, exploring styles beyond reggae, such as hip-hop and trap.

The album consists of ten songs, all in Catalan, starting with “Equilibris,” the most epic and orchestral song dedicated to neighborhoods, the difficulties, and courage of everyday life. It is followed by “La gent corrent,” a song celebrating collective thinking. “Cançons per caminar” is a collaboration with the rapper from Lleida, Elane, discussing the challenges and joys of making music. Next is “La mafia,” addressing capitalism, the banking system, and monetary creation as a drowning source: the source of wealth, the thirst of poverty. “Fes-t’ho Tu” is a return to reggae, an ode to ‘Do It Yourself,’ cultivating, and ultimately, a much healthier life connecting the mind and body. The hip-hop-influenced track “La pols” follows, talking about the passage of time and encouraging a return to old ways. “Rumors” is a song prompting reflection on fake news, with experimental and modern rhythms. Then comes the most personal song of the album, where Adala bares his soul and shares details of his life and dark past that have shaped the project, set to the rhythm of hip-hop in “D’on vinc.” The album includes two previously released songs, “Amor al barri,” in collaboration with Tribade, a tribute to the comrades fighting daily for the right to decent housing. Also included is “Calma,” a critique of hectic life and a hymn to slowness.

The album is released by Radi Solar (R☉), a community, assembly-based, and self-financed record label created by a collective of artists who share a common vision of music and the world. The album will premiere live on March 2 at the Paral·lel 62 venue in Barcelona and will tour self-produced in cities like Valls, Mataró, Vic, Valencia, or Girona. Adala releases “DELTA,” his highly anticipated fourth album, a song celebrating collective thinking, consolidating him as one of the prominent artists in the region.
