Emé, the artistic name of Miranda Agustí Sánchez, is an emerging artist bringing a new dimension to rap in Catalonia. Originally from Salt (Girona), she delved into the world of hip-hop at the age of 19. Although she lacked role models in the genre, she possessed an undeniable passion for musical expression.
After releasing her first tracks, a transformative experience in Seville reconnected her with her artistic essence. Despite having limited resources, her boundless determination led her to self-produce pieces like “Miavita” and “Orgull”, establishing a personal style that fuses classic boom bap with melodic touches and intimate, experiential lyrics. Emé doesn’t just make rap—she feels it, transforms it, and projects it without boundaries. If you’re looking for authenticity and emerging talent in Hip-Hop, her name is impossible to ignore.
“Antes de mí” is Emé’s first EP, representing everything the artist from Girona has been before reaching her best version. It’s a collection of songs that trace an intense emotional journey—from the lowest point in her life, through resilience and overcoming, to the healing that has made her who she is today.
“Castillo de Arena” is the opening track of the EP and a clear showcase of all her talents: rapping, singing, and a strong ability to write introspective lyrics that reflect her experiences, emotions, and life lessons. This deeply themed track is a fusion of a Boom Bap base and a wide range of stylistic and linguistic elements, as Emé raps in Spanish, Catalan, and French.
“Marfil” is an energetic song that takes us through change and the acceptance of difficult moments that anyone may have faced in life and that have once been a burden. On the other hand, there’s also a sense of fight, of staying alert to one’s surroundings, where Emé wants to show us how to not give too much importance to what people say or how they respond to you.
The third track, “La Deuxième”, is calmer than the previous ones and invites listeners to reflect on the interpretation of reality in everyday situations and how to face them. Through her music, the rapper from Girona shares her personal view of the circumstances life throws at her, showing how to tackle them and come out stronger.
Next comes “Cuando me fui”, which speaks about moments of escape seen from a very personal perspective, also marked by the anger and chaos caused by decisions that, although necessary, were not always the wisest.
And finally, the EP closes with “Bajo Llave”, a track that completely breaks away from the previous one, this time conveying peace and calm. It represents the closing of a chapter, the final point of everything that once hurt Emé.
“Antes de mí” is available on all streaming platforms.
