Colombian-Catalan artist Meli Perea joins forces with Pío Molino on “Metiendo Candela”, a track that blends the Afro-Caribbean pulse of mapalé with the hypnotic language of techno. Driven by a 4/4 kick at 180 BPM, a deep A minor bassline, and live percussion, the song builds a soundscape where spirituality and the jungle intertwine in a trance of body and roots.
The production embraces a hybrid approach, merging analog synthesis and organic percussion, while a female Spanish vocal leads the track with magnetic intensity. The result is a piece made both for the dance floor and for deep listening — a modern ritual that is organic, hypnotic, and burning with energy.
Recorded between Catalonia and Colombia, the song marks the beginning of Perea’s new album Temas, Terapias y Visajes, a project exploring the intersection of territory, rhythm, and spirituality through a modern, experimental lens.
“Metiendo Candela” was released on October 2, marking the first chapter of this new creative era for the artist.
