Meli Perea will premiere the music video for her new single “LODO” on Thursday, May 23rd at 12 PM. This transformative track encourages the construction of our own paths, evoking a creative and strong intention, shedding the power we’ve given to others’ words over our own journey.
In the “LODO” clip, dance plays a fundamental role, expressing through movement the journey we undertake, the struggles, obstacles, and the path leading us to our roots, to find our essence. The recording has been a beautiful process with the dance group “La Cofradía,” most of them Cuban, led by Mario Elias Leiva, the protagonist of the video, with whom they have shared the creative process. The “LODO” music video has been made possible thanks to a grant from Cases de la Música de Reus.
Meli Perea (Melissa Carballido Perea), a singer and songwriter from Bogotá (Colombia) currently residing in the Delta del Ebro. Her journey in music began in the streets and squares of Bogotá, where she delved into freestyle with her neighborhood friends. In 2023, she released her first album “Prisma”, an intimate project where she explored real-life stories, neighborhoods, and characters of Bogotá. The album was recorded in a home studio format in collaboration with friends and musicians like Ancestral Beats, her producer. “Prisma” fused Latin rap with Afro-Colombian rhythms, electronic music, and featured the standout track “Debajo el puente”, which featured collaboration with Adala.
