Stylo G

Best known as STYLO G, Jason McDermott (born July 16th, 1985) is Britain’s fastest - rising Dancehall star. Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, STYLO G moved to the UK (South London) in 2000 at the young age of 15, inspiring him to create his own style as a bridge between the cold streets of London and the hot and Sunny island of Jamaica.

2012 was an explosive year for STYLO G with the release of underground smash hit and his breakthrough track “Call Mi a Yardie”. A quintessential carnival track, it won the support of radio, TV and DJ’s alike, and was the first track to break him in to the international scene and allowed his to gain approval of his peers in the industry. He swiftly followed up with “Soundbwoy” which was his first track to enter the UK mainstream charts.

After a solid series of singles, he released his debut album 10 years later, in 2018, which included his successful single "Yuh Zimme" with CHIP, selling over 20,000 copies in the UK. The success of the project led him to tour with over 25 shows across Europe. He continued to achieve milestones, collaborating with Spanish star MALA RODRIGUEZ on "Contigo," which amassed over 8 MILLION VIEWS in the first month, reaching a total of 37M on YouTube and 23.5M on Spotify. Additionally, his single "Touch Down" made waves in the dancehall community, sparking the #TouchDownChallenge on social media, turning the song viral and leading to a remix with Nicki Minaj.

Undoubtedly, in the following years, we have seen him take his career to the next level with the release of collaborative singles such as the remix of "Dumpling" with Sean Paul, "Outta Space" with Busta Rhymes, or "Mirchi," his collaboration with Indian rapper DIVINE, which has accumulated over 56M streams on Spotify and 304M on YouTube. He has also had solo hits like "Dash It," "Google," and "Oh Lawd." In 2022, he released a 10-song mixtape called Detention Mixtape with hits like "Camel Toe."

Stylo G has a total of over 200M streams on Spotify, making him one of the most powerful artists in the European urban scene.
